Job description
A Travel Sales Executive is responsible for selling travel-related services and products to individuals or businesses. The role combines elements of sales, customer service, and industry-specific knowledge of travel and tourism. Below are key responsibilities for this position :
1. Sales & Client Acquisition
• Actively seek out and engage with potential customers (both individuals and corporate clients).
• Go out for sales to meet decision makers in corporates for MICE / group tours or their hotel and flight ticket bookings.
• Conduct outbound calls, emails, and attend networking events to generate new leads.
• Provide detailed information on travel packages, services, and promotions to customers.
• Create and maintain relationships with clients to encourage repeat business.
2. Consultation & Customization
• Understand the customer’s travel needs and preferences (destinations, budgets, timeframes).
• Offer personalized travel solutions, including accommodation, transportation, activities, and itineraries.
• Recommend and sell additional services such as insurance, upgrades, or excursions.
3. Booking & Reservations
• Assist clients in booking flights, hotels, cruises, car rentals, and tours.
• Process travel reservations and ensure all bookings are confirmed.
• Maintain an organized database of bookings and customer details.
4. Market Knowledge & Research
• Stay updated on current travel trends, new destinations, and special promotions.
• Understand competitive pricing and negotiate the best deals with suppliers.
• Research travel options and packages for clients, ensuring they are well-informed.
5. Customer Service & Support
• Handle inquiries and resolve any issues that arise before, during, or after a trip.
• Provide travel advice and support, including visa, passport, and health requirements.
• Ensure a smooth customer experience by offering assistance with travel documentation and bookings.
6. Sales Targets & Performance
• Achieve and exceed sales targets and KPIs set by the company.
• Monitor performance against goals and adjust strategies to improve sales outcomes.
• Maintain detailed records of sales activities, interactions with clients, and results.
7. Collaboration & Teamwork
• Collaborate with other departments (e.g., operations, marketing) to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Work closely with suppliers (airlines, hotel chains, tour operators) to secure the best deals.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of sales strategies.
8. Administrative Tasks
• Maintain accurate records of client information, bookings, and transactions.
• Process payments, issue invoices, and follow up on any outstanding amounts.
• Update and maintain customer databases, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
9. Promotion & Marketing
• Promote new packages, destinations, and special offers through various channels (social media, email newsletters, etc.).
• Assist with organizing promotional events or campaigns to generate more sales.
10. Travel Industry Regulations
• Stay informed on travel-related regulations and restrictions, including visa requirements, health advisories, and insurance policies.
• Advise clients on necessary documentation and legal considerations when traveling.
This role requires strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills, along with a good understanding of the travel industry. Sales executives often work under pressure to meet targets while delivering excellent customer service.
Minimum 2 years of experience in relevant field is must.
