Designation: Automation Junior Engineer
Location: Coimbatore Division:
Operations Reporting To: Operational Excellence & Lean Lead
Job Overview:
The Automation Junior Engineer will be responsible for leading and managing the implementation of automations in manufacturing processes across 12 manufacturing plants. This includes executing projects aimed at achieving payback within 1 year, integrating new systems, and reducing costs. The role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement, innovation, and ensuring the use of Industry 4.0 and Industry 3.0 technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Drive Automation for 12 Plants: Drive automation initiatives across 12 manufacturing units.
2.Develop Automation Strategy: Create and implement an automation strategy to streamline processes, reduce costs, and improve quality and efficiency, incorporating Industry 4.0 and Industry 3.0 technologies.
3.Manage Projects: Lead automation projects from start to finish, including system design, budgeting, resource allocation, managing timelines, and evaluating post-installation results. This is a management role involving aspects of project management.
4.Execute with Payback Target: Ensure all automation projects are executed with a focus on achieving a payback within 1 year.
5.Team Leadership: Guide and mentor a team of engineers, providing support for project execution.
6.Cost Management: Use strong cost management skills to track budgets, optimize resources, and ensure that automation initiatives deliver financial benefits.
7.Implement Technology: Identify and implement cutting-edge automation technologies, including Industry 4.0 technologies like IoT, big data, smart manufacturing, and Industry 3.0 technologies like PLC systems and robotics.
8.Optimize Processes: Regularly assess existing processes to identify automation opportunities and make improvements, ensuring operational efficiency.
9.Vendor Management: Manage relationships with vendors, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery and installation of automation equipment.
10.Systems Integration: Oversee the seamless integration of new automated systems with minimal disruption to existing operations.
11.Monitor Performance: Track the performance of automated systems, conduct audits, and generate reports on productivity, efficiency, and reliability.
12.Ensure Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all automation systems comply with safety standards, industry regulations, and company policies.
13.Drive Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in Industry 4.0 and Industry 3.0 technologies and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
14.Training and Support: Train operations teams on new automation systems and ensure that staff are equipped to use the technology effectively.

1.Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or Management (Electrical, Mechanical, Automation, Operations, Industrial, or related fields).
2.Experience:
Experience in automation engineering.
Experience in leading large-scale automation projects in a manufacturing environment.
