Job Title: General Accountant

Reports To: Finance Manager/Controller

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented General Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting. This position requires an individual with excellent analytical skills, a thorough understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:
• Manage the accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payment of invoices and accurate recording of transactions.
• Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies.

Budgeting and Forecasting:
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, providing analysis and insights to support decision-making.
• Monitor actual vs. budgeted expenses and revenues, and provide variance analysis.

Tax Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations, preparing and filing tax returns as required.
• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations affecting the hotel industry.

Internal Controls:
• Implement and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard the company's assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
• Conduct regular audits and reviews to identify and mitigate financial risks.

Collaboration:
• Work closely with other departments, including Operations, Sales, and HR, to provide financial insights and support.
• Assist in the preparation of financial presentations for management and stakeholders.

Additional Responsibilities:
• Participate in special projects and assignments as needed.
• Continuously improve accounting processes and systems.

Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Knowledge: In-depth understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and hotel industry-specific accounting practices.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
