Job Overview
The Assistant Manager - Supply Chain at Waldent is responsible for optimizing and managing the end-to-end supply chain process, ensuring efficient product flow from suppliers to customers. This role involves planning, coordinating, and overseeing supply chain operations to achieve company objectives, improve operational efficiency, maintain quality standards, and minimize costs. The position requires collaboration with various departments, including sales, marketing, production, and logistics, to streamline the supply chain, manage inventory, and support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management
Oversee stock levels and maintain optimal inventory to meet demand without overstocking or understocking.
Implement and monitor inventory management strategies, including reordering points, safety stock levels, and lead time calculations.
Supplier Relationship Management
Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of high-quality materials.
Negotiate contracts, terms, and prices with suppliers to ensure value for money.
Monitor supplier performance and take corrective actions when necessary.
Demand Forecasting and Planning
Collaborate with sales and marketing to develop accurate demand forecasts.
Create and maintain production and procurement schedules to meet demand forecasts and customer orders.
Monitor demand variations and adjust plans accordingly.
Logistics and Distribution
Coordinate with logistics providers to ensure timely and accurate product delivery to customers.
Optimize logistics routes, distribution methods, and carrier selection to improve delivery efficiency and reduce costs.
Cost Optimization
Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities throughout the supply chain.
Analyze supply chain expenses, identify cost drivers, and work on reducing costs without compromising quality.
Quality Control
Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to ensure all materials and products meet Waldent’s quality standards.
Monitor and address quality issues within the supply chain.
Data Analysis and Reporting
Use data analysis tools to track key supply chain metrics, analyze trends, and make data-driven decisions.
Generate regular reports on supply chain performance, inventory status, supplier performance, and cost metrics.
Process Improvement
Identify and implement improvements to streamline processes and increase the efficiency of supply chain operations.
Support initiatives in adopting new technologies, automation, and best practices within the supply chain.
Compliance and Risk Management
Ensure all supply chain operations comply with relevant regulations and company policies.
Identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, logistics, or a related field. An advanced degree or certification (e.g., APICS, CSCP) is a plus.
Experience:
2+ years of experience in supply chain management, logistics, or procurement, ideally within the dental or medical equipment sector.
Skills:
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools.
Proficiency in supply chain management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to risk management.
