Position Overview
We are seeking an accomplished Senior Interior Designer/Architect to lead major projects and design teams from Workplace Interior Industry while setting new standards in spatial design excellence. The ideal candidate will bring strategic vision, technical expertise, and proven leadership abilities to drive innovative design solutions and mentor the next generation of designers.
Core Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Spearhead the design direction for major projects across various sectors
Develop and implement design strategies aligned with client objectives and market trends
Lead and mentor design teams of 2-5 members
Drive innovation in design methodology and sustainable practices
Establish and maintain design standards and quality benchmarks
Contribute to business development and company growth strategies
Design Excellence
Lead conceptual design development for complex, large-scale projects
Ensure design integrity throughout project execution
Integrate sustainable design principles and innovative solutions
Drive creative problem-solving in challenging projects
Oversee space planning and programming
Develop custom design elements and furniture solutions
Create comprehensive design narratives and presentations
Project Leadership
Manage multiple high-value projects simultaneously
Lead client presentations and stakeholder meetings
Oversee project budgets and resource allocation
Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and consultants
Ensure project delivery within timeline and budget constraints
Manage client relationships and expectations
Drive quality control and design reviews
Technical Oversight
Review and approve technical documentation and specifications
Ensure compliance with building codes and regulations
Oversee material selection and specifications
Supervise construction documentation
Manage value engineering processes
Coordinate with external consultants and specialists
Oversee quality control processes
Business Development
Participate in business development initiatives
Lead client pitches and presentations
Develop project proposals and fee structures
Build and maintain client relationships
Contribute to marketing and branding initiatives
Represent the firm at industry events
Mentor and develop team capabilities
Required Qualifications
Education & Licensing
Master's degree in Architecture or Interior Design from an accredited institution
Professional registration/license in Architecture
NCIDQ certification preferred
LEED AP or other sustainable design certifications
Active membership in professional organizations (AIA, IIDA, etc.)
Technical Expertise
Software Proficiency (Advanced Level)
Revit
AutoCAD
SketchUp Pro
3ds Max or similar 3D visualization software
V-Ray or similar rendering engines
Adobe Creative Suite
BIM software
Design Knowledge
Expert understanding of:
Space planning principles
Building systems and construction methods
Material specifications and applications
Lighting design
Acoustical design
Sustainable design practices
Building codes and regulations
Contract documentation
Cost estimation and budgeting
Industry Experience
Minimum 8-10 years of progressive design experience
Portfolio demonstrating complex, large-scale projects
Experience across multiple sectors (commercial, residential, hospitality)
Track record of successful project delivery
History of leading design teams
