Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Catering Event Manager at Shilton Hospitality in Bengaluru. The Catering Event Manager will be responsible for planning, organizing, and executing catering events, managing client relationships, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring the success of events.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Event Planning and Coordination:
• Meet with clients to understand their requirements, preferences, and budgets for banquets and events.
• Develop detailed event plans, including menus, themes, timelines, and layouts.
• Coordinate with the kitchen, service staff, and other departments to ensure seamless execution.
• Arrange for additional services, such as audiovisual equipment, floral arrangements, and entertainment as requested by clients.
2. Client Relations:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, resolving concerns, and providing regular updates.
• Build strong relationships with clients to encourage repeat business and referrals.
• Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.
3. Operations Management:
• Supervise banquet staff during events to ensure high-quality service and efficient operations.
• Oversee setup and breakdown of banquet spaces, ensuring adherence to client specifications and safety standards.
• Manage inventory and supplies for events, including tableware, linens, and decorations.
4. Financial Oversight:
• Prepare and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
• Monitor revenue and profitability, achieving or exceeding financial targets.
• Negotiate contracts with clients and vendors, ensuring favorable terms for the company.
5. Team Leadership:
• Train, mentor, and supervise catering and banquet staff, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
• Schedule staff for events, ensuring appropriate coverage for all functions.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
6. Compliance and Standards:
• Ensure all events comply with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
• Maintain the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and customer service.
• Stay updated on industry trends and innovations to continuously improve the banquet experience.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in catering, event management, or a related role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
Skills:
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Creative problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
